This Christmas anthem got me thinking about the guy behind the bass....
Great jokes, burlesque horns, and the baritone of a generation of cartoon characters.
The man's name is Thurl Arthur Ravenscroft (February 6, 1914 – May 22, 2005). He was on a Disney contract for 53 years, and got type cast as a Grinch early on.
But Thurl is probably best known for his super positive attitude about cereal as Tony the Tiger. How would 50 years of saying, "they're great!!!" change a man? Here's one more, the apropriately titled, Sleep in the DEEP!
